Passionate about youth and women, LaKeacha is the Founder & Executive Director of Social Butterflies Youth Services, Inc., where she collaborates with schools to implement group mentoring programs for youth. The premier mentoring program, Social Butterflies, Inc., is a girls mentoring program that helps girls grow into confident, independent young women. The mission of Social Butterflies, Inc. is to motivate, inspire, and empower females by promoting self-esteem. This goal is realized through fun, positive meetings, Book Club readings, Journal Writing, Community Service Projects, Enrichment Activities and the Free to Be Me Curriculum.
Since incorporating in 2007, Social Butterflies, Inc. has reached girls across various states. Through Social Butterflies, Dr. Jett has initiated special events for girls such as a Back to School Brunch, Social Butterflies Masquerade Ball, Ladies First Empowerment Breakfast, A Butterfly Tea and an Annual For Girls Only Conference. The most empowering event experienced by 65 girls and women of Social Butterflies, Inc. was a trip to Washington, DC to witness the 57th Presidential Inauguration and swearing-in ceremony for President Barack Obama.
LaKeacha is also the President and CEO of Jett Media Group, LLC, a multimedia production company that creates media with messages of character development, motivation and inspiration, featuring her new intriguing, suspenseful novel, Egregious Acts. Egregious Acts, mesmerizes the reader with intense action and non-stop drama while teaching valuable lessons about life and survival. In addition, Jett Media Group has produced several educational resources, The 28 Days of February, Free To Be Me Curriculum for Girls, Being the Best Me Curriculum for Boys and The Impact of Mentoring Programs on Academic Achievement. These resources are implemented in several schools systems throughout the United States and are available on Amazon. Lastly, Courageous Champions, a mentoring program for boys and Executives in Stilettos, a mentoring program for female entrepreneurs are the latest two projects produced through JMG.
As a former teenage mother and a victim of female violence, Dr. Jett has dedicated her life to developing programs and writing curricula, which combat at-risk youth behavior and empower girls and women to achieve excellence in all they do. Dr. Jett has been featured on 11Alive News and Clayton County Schools C.H.A.T., as well as, highlighted in Black Gives Back, Fabulous Black Women and Atlanta’s People You Should Know Newsletter. Dr. Jett credits her success to her faith in God and her strong family support. A native of Baltimore, Md., Dr. Jett currently resides in Atlanta, GA with her three beautiful children.
